Sainetes were developed in the 18th century by playwrights such as Ramón de la Cruz, and were largely based on satirical observations of ordinary people's lives and reflected this in the language they were written in. They were still being written by authors such as Carlos Arniches well into the 20th century.See:ver nota culturelle ENTREMÉS in entremés* * *masculino comic o comedy sketch, one-act farce* * *masculino comic o comedy sketch, one-act farce* * *sainetemasculinecomic o comedy sketch, one-act farceaquel coloquio parecía un sainete that conversation was like something out of a comedy sketchla entrevista fue un sainete the interview was a complete farce* * *
